Volunteer Position:
ESOL Administrator
Volunteer Opportunity: ESOL Administrator
The English for Speakers of Other Languages volunteer administrator will work under the Career Development Counselor approximately 10 hours a week to manage the ESOL program.
Duties include:
Placement, Orientation and Evaluation of New and Continuing Clients:

The Volunteer Administrator will administer ESOL placement test to new clients to determine English ability.

The Volunteer Administrator will orient new clients to our ESOL services and enroll them in internal class if deemed appropriate.

The Volunteer Administrator will evaluate progress of clients in internal classes, using the self-evaluation form with clients who have attended BCRHHR class for 6 months +.
ESOL Outside Referrals:

The Volunteer Administrator will facilitate outside ESOL referrals if necessary or if requested by client.
Assistance with ESOL Curriculum and Revision of Class Materials:

The Volunteer Administrator will review current materials available to instructors and compile a list of relevant materials/websites to aid ESOL teachers.

The Volunteer Administrator will revise ESOL books and multimedia currently available and make recommendations on additional materials.
Updating and maintaining ESOL Data:

The Volunteer Administrator will enter weekly data from ESOL teachers about class attendance and volunteer hours.

The Volunteer Administrator will aid the Career Development Counselor with grant reporting when applicable.
Support ESOL Teachers and Plan ESOL Class Events:

The Volunteer Administrator will support the teachers if problems arise

The Volunteer Administrator will act as an intermediary between the English teachers and Career Development Counselor
The Volunteer Administrator will plan quarterly field trips for the various ESOL classes
